Meanwhile back at the farm…puppies in the snow!

Puppies Playing in the Snow

It’s been a great January at The Cider Farm orchard.  We’ve had snow, but not too much.  We’ve had cold, but not too much.  And we’ve had warm, but not too much.  The hoar frost was spectacular and unlike any we’ve seen before.  And no, it was not too much for any of our trees, cultivated or wild.  All is good; tree pruning has begun.

Snow gives us the yearning to get out on the land beyond the orchard.  It’s beautiful traipsing on snowshoes through the woodlands, across the spring-fed stream and out to our bottomland, especially when the snow glistens from the sun.  The puppies make snowshoeing even more fun!  The deep snow takes the edge off their Jack Russell energy.

We enjoy sharing this lovely piece of the Driftless region that we call The Cider Farm.  If you’ve got snow shoes or care to rent some, feel free to snowshoe around.  Puppies optional.  Contact us.
