Live Music at The Cider Farm with Durango McMurphy

Live Music at The Cider Farm.  Durango McMurphy, singer of Americana and Blues will perform on Saturday, April 10

Live music is played in the Greenhouse, a semi-outdoors area with roll-up doors.  Don’t worry if it’s a little chilly outside, we have heaters and blankets to keep you warm.

Often confused with the Invisible Man, Durango was born just outside New York City in a formidable circus of chaos, police sirens and blue neon fire. Many happy childhood hours were spent sitting on the front porch with his Grandmother watching drunks stagger out of the Tavern across the street. Life was good. Seeking what became an inscrutable destiny, the family soon moved to Miami where he learned to read the Classics, play baseball, and use a switchblade. Durango isn’t the only musician in the family, his Uncle was Harold Arlen, composer of ” Somewhere Over the Rainbow “.

Durango later attended and graduated college then moved to Colorado. There, he fell in with a scruffy coterie of aging Beat poets, punk rockers like the Ramones and Ken Kesey’s psychedelic tribe, The Merry-Pranksters.

Currently, Durango resides in Wisconsin where he is recording, performing as a singer/songwriter, trying to survive the current world situation and making occasional pilgrimages to the Dalai Lama’s Temple at Deer Park .

His latest effort is a happy tune called “Dumpster Paradise”, recorded in Madison.

The Cider Farm
The Cider Farm offers ciders made with organic, true cider apples grown near Mineral Point, Wisconsin. The ciders pair beautifully with the made from ‘scratch’ small plates featuring locally and organically grown ingredients.
